Kitchens are a huge selling point. Make it easy for potential buyers to picture themselves living in your home and kitchen. You’ve heard the saying, there’s no “I” in “Team”…likewise, there’s no “People like my clutter” in “Sell”. Okay, maybe that’s pushing it, but it’s still wise to clear all unnecessary objects from the counter-tops. It simply makes them look bigger and helps the kitchen look more open. If something hasn’t been used this week…put it away! Clear the front of your refrigerator from personal messages, magnets, pictures, etc. You want buyers to see the kitchen, not you. Trust me, I’ve heard the post-showing analysis conversation countless times…and if there are pictures of you, your family, your kids, and magnets showing where you’ve been all over the fridge…the buyer will be back in their car talking about you and what you might be like instead of how great your house is. Clean stainless steel (buy a special cleaner), and make sure dishes are put away (or in dishwasher) too. SHOW potential buyers that your kitchen is easy to keep clean and clutter-free (whether it is or isn’t!)…and buyers will show YOU the money!
